Upton Model 40 BB Rifle Mfrd 1891-1928

The Upton Company was sold to Markham King and then to American Tools Works and finally to Daisy who, in 1916 dumped the tooling for these rifles in the Detroit River. The company was eventually acquired by the Whirlpool Corporation.
Upton Model 40 is a lever action BB / .174 cal repeater. ( It will shoot standard size BB’s)
Cast iron lever.
Note: This is a ” reverse cocker”. In other words it cocks on the down stroke
The metal finish a brown patina.
The wood stock is in great shape for it’s age. May have been refinished over the years..
The gun cocks and shoots. Velocity tested at 186 fps.
The shot tube is original.
