First Variant 50’s Era Crosman 140 Air Rifle

The Crosman 140 is a .22 caliber single shot, multi-pump air rifle with a rifled steel barrel, hardwood stock and machined metal construction. This one is a first variant with fingertip recocking and spoon handle breech cover. They were manufactured in 1954.

The wood stock and pump handle were refinished at some point. The metal retains about 80% of the original finish mostly due to thinning of the blue. Doesn’t look bad.

It was cleaned, lubed, and resealed in our shop. Velocity tested at 449 fps using lead pellets.
