Made to look like the Springfield 1903, the Daisy No. 40 originally came with a steel bayonet with a rubber tip. It also had a sling. Both are missing from this gun. This is a second variant model with a fixed front sight and 25 shot tube. They were manufactured between 1919 and 1932.
This is a really old rifle, and the wood shows it. It’s solid, but has a lot of surface wear. The metal retains about 70% of the original blued finish.
This one’s been cleaned, lubed, and resealed in our shop. Velocity was tested at around 350 fps.
