This is one of the first variants of the Daisy Red Ryder Copperband BB gun. It has the Red Ryder brand on the left side of the stock, and is burned on as opposed to stamped as is the case with later variants. It also has the Fred Harmon signature in the branding on the stock. The first variant also has the front barrel band pinched into place instead of welded. The bands still have a little copper on them. These also have a cast iron cocking lever. They were manufactured between 1940, and 1941.
The wood stock and forearm have a little surface wear, but it’s the original finish. Looks nice for the age! The metal has a couple small dings (pictured) and retains about 70% of the original finish with a good patina and even wear.
It was cleaned, lubed, and resealed in our shop. Velocity tested at around 260 fps. Shoots good!
