Made to look like the Springfield 1903, the Daisy No. 40 originally came with a steel bayonet with a rubber tip. It also had a sling. Both are missing from this gun. This is a second variant model with a fixed front sight and 25 shot tube. They were manufactured between 1919 and 1932.
The wood stock was refinished. The shot tube had to be replaced with a modern one to get it working again. The metal finish is mostly a dark brown patina.
This gun is in good working condition. Velocity tested at around 323 fps.
