Wood Stock Air Venturi Avengers ARE HERE!

You don’t need me to tell you about the Air Venturi Avenger.  Partly because of the smashing success of this air rifle, and partly because I’ve already told you all about it back in June 2020.  You can watch that video here.  Since it’s release, we have not been able to keep the Avenger in stock here at Baker Airguns.  As with everywhere else, the only way to get one of these is to pre-order.  We would try to order more than we had pre-orders for so that we could keep some in stock for walk in traffic and the like.  Whatever amount we had left over from an order would be gone in a day or so.  It would seem that I’m not the only one with a very high opinion of the Avenger.  Below is the link to the video that accompanies this article.  I suggest taking them both in for the full story.

And what’s not to love?  It’s a regulated, fully adjustable, side-lever operated powerhouse of a tack driver.  It’s got sling installation points and a picatinny rail on the bottom.  It’s got a fully adjustable trigger, can use both dovetail and picatinny scope rings…and more.  The features and performance you get out of this gun belie it’s meager price tag…so what’s not to love?  The stock.  That’s what.

The original ultra-lightweight plastic stocked Avenger

Hollow, thin, and light…the stock on the Avenger was the most common complaint that I heard.  While complimenting the light weight design of the rifle very well so far as function is concerned, many users said that it left something to be desired in the “feels” category.  Well…fear not my little snowflakes….always so concerned about your feelings!  Air Venturi has listened to your cries!

New for 2021 is the wood stocked version of the Air Venturi Avenger!  The stock is made of genuine yellowish wood of a type I have not yet been able to identify.  Nor has my research uncovered what type of wood is used for the new stock.  All I know is that it’s really real wood, and it adds about 0.6lb in weight to the Avenger…raising the total weight to 7lbs.

While not figured maple or anything fancy, the wood is attractive and adds a substantive heft to the otherwise feathery Avenger.  It’s got texturing on the grip and fore-end, sling swivel studs, and a rubber buttpad.  You’ll love it.   It really does feel great.

Plus, feel free to butt-stroke your enemies or block a sword attack with confidence that  your wood stock Avenger will laugh it off.  When you’re done…lean your Avenger in a corner, crack open a Budweiser and put on a John Wayne flick.  Adding some weight and toughness to the Avenger has made it more American…and there’s nothing more American than a man, his wood stocked gun, a Budweiser, and a John Wayne movie.  Not even apple pie.
