Monthly In-Store Benchrest Results for April 2019…
I know….I know. I’m sorry it took so long to get the results for April posted. Please forgive me, as I’ve been very busy with work and life. Let’s get right to it. This month, I posted the highest score in every class. In the .177 class, I shot a 248/250, 7x using my Daystate Wolverine R, Hawke Airmax 8-32×50, and JSB Old Monster 13.43gr pellets. As you know if you’ve been following, Baker Airguns employees are exempt from winning the money prize. That means that in the .177 class this month, Mark Taylor (a fellow Marine) won the money prize yet again with a 238/250, 2x . Mark shot his Air Arms S510 FAC with a Hawke Airmax 8-32×50 using the JSB Old Monster 13.43gr pellets. Our own Daymon Hoag (IT Specialist here at Baker Airguns) came in third with his FX Crown, Tac Vector Sentinel 8-32×50, and JSB Old Monster 13.43gr pellets. Daymon is a newcomer to competition shooting, and did quite well for his first time!
In the .22 class, I scored 247/250, 12x WITH A HUNTING PELLET! That’s right! I shot the store record for .22 using the new JSB Hades pellets. Those pellets are wicked accurate out of the Daystate Wolverine R .22 that I used for testing. If you haven’t seen it yet, our last blog was on the new JSB Hades pellets. There is a video posted in the blog as well. You can find the JSB Hades blog here. I had an Aztec Emerald 3-18×50 on the Wolverine R. Mr. Baker posted an impressive 243/250, 10x using the FX Wildcat Compact with an MTC Viper scope and JSB Exact 15.89gr pellets. The money winner in the .22 class this month was Kurt Blank. Kurt shot a 241/250, 2x with his FX Crown, Hawke Sidewinder FFP 6-24×50, and JSB Exact Heavy 18.13gr pellets.
In the .25 class, using a top secret rifle that I cannot yet reveal, I shot a perfect 250/250, 16x. I’ll tell you guys all about that rifle as soon as I’m cleared to do so. I CAN tell you that I used an Aztec Emerald 5.5-25×50 scope and JSB King 25.39gr pellets….but the specifics of the rifle will have to wait. Doug Coldren won the money prize this month with a 238/250, 7x shooting his Brocock Bantam Sniper, an Aztec Emerald 3-18×50 and JSB King Heavy pellets. Jeff Ewing also shot a 238/250…but only managed 1 x. In case of a tie, we go to Xs, and once had to go to 10s. Still, Jeff shot great with his FX Crown, Aztec Emerald 5.5-25×50 and JSB King Heavy 33.95gr pellets.
We would like to congratulate all of our winners, and thank everyone who shot in April. Remember, there is no entry fee…and there is a $50 prize for the winner of each class. You could win $150 if you win every class. You can’t beat that deal with a stick, and all you have to do is shoot airguns to get it! I promise I’ll get the May results up at the beginning of June, unlike this month. Again, I beg your forgiveness for my tardiness.
